Pizza is good, but theres going to be enough people and enough time to try nearly anything :P
    decide at the time maybe?

I'll be bringing a PC plus the 24" Dell screen (for it's millions of inputs, requested by Andy)
i do also have a spare LCD if anyone needs it on the day too.

I'm definitely coming - I might try to take a half day at work to get more sleep in preparation before the event starts!

When is the earliest we can come round to set up... I'm guessing we will all have to be ready to starting playing (and fragging) from 9pm on the dot?

Food-wise we could certainly do Pizza... or any other home-delivery take away..... but what about a small buffet style thing... we each bring some items and set up on a table... i.e. sausage rolls, bread, burgers etc....

And energy drinks are a good idea! Try to keep off the alcohol!

Cool, as many LCD's as we can muster is always a good thing! The venue will also be available from 7/7:30 onwards. Some sleep will be required me thinks!

This has made me think about what actual games we will be playing!

First off, we have 1 x Plasma 37" with all consoles connected: Wii, XBOX 360 & PS3.
This will be hosting a Rock Band Set &/Or Forza 2 setup with a steering wheel and pedals!

We will also have 1 x LCD TV 23" with an XBOX 360 attached.
This will be hosting another Forza 2 setup with another wheel!

We will have a large area for many PC's too.

What are people planning to play PC wise?

Okies, obviously I'm coming. I'm being dropped off though as the better half has decided to give it a miss....

    I am Definitly bringing....

    - 1 x Xbox 360 (4 controllers, 1 x Arcade stick, 2 x headsets, batteries etc)
    - Loads of games (Forza, Streetfighter 4, GRAS Gears of war etc)
    - 1 x Racing Wheel and 1 x ROCK BAND KIT!!!!!
    - 1 x 23" TV (associated power)
    - 1 x Hi fi for proper sound! (and good headphone usage)

I MIGHT Bring the PC but I'm lothed to as it's a PITA to move about and it's not really set for games any more! I will if it's NEEDED

AS far as stuff to do is concerned. This would be a good / only oppertunity to go for the endless setlist achievement on rockband if people are up for it (enough people can dip in and out again if required). A streetfighter 4 tournament could be set up. we have call of duty we can play etc etc. GRAW is always fun.

PC wise.... no idea. Quake 3? C&C?

Set up wise I can get there whenever and roll with it.

Food wise I'll bring coke and snacks. we should send someone out for a BIG bucket of KFC at sme point though!

Okay, my PC rig's definitely coming. Dan, if I could swipe that spare LCD I'll be grateful, 'cos mine is 26" of chunky, heavy pain-in-the-buttocks. I intend to max my Warcraft level boys and girls! Whooooo! I also have plenty of gamage I can bring.

I have a 360 I can bring if a third is needed, but I doubt I'll be allowed to swipe the PS3 as it's our main media box. Do we need extra Wiimotes for any reason? Also.. have a funky idea. Al, why not bring your StreetFighter IV joystick? If it works on Windows 7 we can set up my laptop as a MAME machine! Arcade gaming FTW!

Having spoken to Andy a little while ago, we figured a good plan for Rock Band/Singstar would be to have it in the corner as a "naughty step" for anyone who starts to flag. We'll also have a camera set up to film the singing for laughter laughs.

Oh, Andy... my co-host from One More Go is heading down. Al was going to clear this with you, but I haven't heard back. Cool for one more?

And finally.... food. Pizza is a good idea, as it's effortless. I suggest everybody have at least £20.00 on them on the night in cash, and then we can sort out takeaway on the fly. Remember, we're going to need at least two main meals each -- lunch and dinner on Saturday, plus breakast for those who can stomach it. We shouldn't be eating anything that requires a knife and fork, because it means you have to stop gaming for far too long. Snacking is, of course, permitted, but try to avoid sigar rushes that will leave you drained. Seriously.

Energy drinks? Good idea... IN MODERATION. Having employed them at several movie all-nighters and whilst burning the candle at both ends as a volunteer for Sci-Fi-London, I can tell you that ultimately they leave you feeling MORE tired, not less, and in extreme cases can lead to hallucinations (yes, I speak from experience). You're better off drinking regular cups of tea for minor caffeine boosts and (more importantly) to keep your fluids up. You'll be lest tired if you're well hydrated, even if you end up peeing every hour or so.

Ooh! Ooh! Idea! Who fancies trying to get all of the way through Final Fantasy VII in the space of 24 hours? It's definitately doable!

I am bringing the SF IV stick. Hoping we can get some SF IV in as well. I'll also be bringing the HD camcorder and the GOOD stills camera and flash so we can get some good shots (Matt you want for website?). I really like the full on tea idea. Perhaps this will be easier if we operate a bring your own mug policy so washing up doesnt accumulate.

Also, the MAME PC idea... I actually ahve a VERY powerfull PC for MAME (as opposed to medium for PC games 4 x 3.22 Ghz cores :-) ) and I have the FULL MAME set from january this year. I'm happy to have My PC set up for MAME. perhap[s we should have a few classig gaming challenges? High scores in Pac Man / Galaga / Metal Slug etc? Hell, it can even play Tekken 3!

Yes, as long as you can vouch for him then it wont be a problem.

So... I definitely think bringing cash to the party along with your own Mug (Large one) is the best option and yes, NOT having alcohol or drinking too much energy drinks is the best way forward. Too much caffeine has the reverse effect to fatigue. ALSO, drinking caffeinated drinks will increase your toilet trips to a certain extent, as its a mild diuretic.

Finally, so far we have 7 participants plus 1 non-participant. Just dont forget the chocolate and vodka entry fee!

Thats a point, we will either need to get food delivered or nominate a friend or partner who can drive to get food! If one of us does this, we will break the rules!

We also should create sponsorship forms so we can ask for money, or tie down some funds for when we actually do it. So far, no-one has contributed online yet and we should raise something!

w00t got half day of work on friday

I'm thinking some fruit would be a good thing. A small boost of natural sugars for to keep us going

For PC games we need to coordinate as installation may be necessary.... to get things rolling here's more suggestions:

    GRID
    Team Fortress 2
    Dawn of War 1 & 2
    C&C Generals
    Counter Strike: Source
Left 4 Dead (the new map!)
    Quake 3 (maybe 4 too?)

(copy + paste this list to say if you can do it or not!   )
    (also add your own!)

    umm pc games wise;

    GRID
    L4D
    Generals
    Quake 3 Normal and JailBreak
    Dawn of War 1

    Worms
    Serious Sam

Im a tad concerned at the moment that if we dont get the ball rolling we will spend a long time copying games on friday #

Well. I am certainly up for both dawn of war 1 & 2. Preferably 2 if I can get it by then.
C&C generals and definately Quake 3 arena. Tis a favourite of mine.

I may play the new monkey island episode one aswell. I have yet to play it due to a lack of capable gfx card.

I will be trying to play both PC and console alternatively so to keep me active. Sitting down for a long while may not be good for keeping awake.

Let's settle on a few titles for the pc that are accessable to all pc's and get them patched up fully then we can take it from there on in. Don't forget, install on pc while xboxing is more than adequate.

Hmm. I'd better be getting some of that pizza to go with all my chocolate & vodka.

I'm also claiming the macbook as my own for the entire 24 hours.

We don't have many chairs either, so you guys might want to think about that. We have four dining chairs and a sofa...other than that you'll have to sit on the floor!

My parents have a some quite decent fold up chairs, shouldn't be a problem to bring them over (but i'll need some transport!)

I'll see if i can borrow my mum's fold-up laptop table too, should be good for one PC (keyboard/mouse/LCD)
You got enough table space for the rest of the PCs Andy?

Games wise: i'll definitely need to copy some off people, as i lost LOADS of stuff a while back.

    Multiplayer games i currently have:
    Left 4 Dead
Team fortress 2 (haven't actually ever played it!)
The rest of Valve's multiplayer things (CS and so on)

Apart from a few MMO clients, the rest is mostly single player :P

Quick question though andy: is it possible the LAN gets hooked up to your broadband? some of the multiplayer stuff (and steam) require it to work :)

    Not a problem :)
I also realised my brother is away this weekend, so theres another spare LCD there, so you've a choice of a 22" or a 17" one now.

    OK,

IMPORTANT THOUGHT - NETWORKING This wil all be much easier if we have net access, Xboxes are easy as we just join them to Andys Wireless netowrk. PCs are different... who's bringing a switch? can we hook it to the internet? Everyone know's they'll have to mess with their IP settings right?

PC games - Anything not on STEAM. we would be wise to sort on the day otherwise patch levels are going to get out of sync.

PC wise TF2 is a genius Idea! I think thats been bundled with every steam purchase this side of 2007 so loads of us should have it (I'll bring my PC as it's going to be easier I think). if you don't have it and want to play it I'm pretty sre it's under a fiver!

C&C Generals is a brilliant idea but remember if not everyone has it htere is a little er.... "fiddeling" required to get every ones copy working. Think you can beat me this time people? 7 vs 1 FTW! (not played it in AGES).

I can bring another chair (but only one as the rest are now dangerous and wouldn;t survive the trip)

If anyone eats fruit near me I'l Fecking kill them! (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED).

Is everyone ok for Power strips and network cables? Remember this is NOT Hazelwick We'll blow the ring socket if we load one plug past 3000WATTS! How we for Power int he Flat Dude?

BTW it's that high because it has power over ethernet feature......

Hello, I'm Billy, Matt's One More Go co-host person. I thought I'd better chime in, say hello and introduce myself.

Anyways, I'm going to be coming down from London on the train, so can't bring along anything too bulky, but as I'm adapted to a life of lugging hardware around I'll try and bring a few bits.

I'll try and bring a Mac (with some emulators on), a PC laptop (with not a lot on other than Cannon Fodder and the first 3 eps of the new Monkey Island), a DS, a Gameboy, a Gamegear (with some Master System games if I can fit them in my bag), my Rock Band drum sticks, and an iPod Touch and an iPhone (with Rolando, Sim City and Monkey Island on as well as the normal minigames). I'm leaving my Lynx at home a) because I don't have many games for it and b) it's shit. I'll try and dig out a power supply as well. I'll also bring my bigger camera for blackmail^H^Hrecording the 'evening'.

Do you need any more Wii-motes or XBox pads? I've got a couple of each and can bring them if need be. I'll bring some XBox and Wii games as well - I've recently grabbed Dead Space: Extraction which should be good for some sleep deprived, middle of the night, twitching horror shooting. For various reasons I'm meant to play WoW at some point in time soon, so I'll try and grab that before I come down as well.

Foodwise I'd say everyone drag a bag of goodies along and then beg/order out for any topups needed. Does anyone live near a supermarket that they could stop into with a promised budget on the way over? I'll be turning up somewhere near Matt's house early evening and am happy to have someone to drive me to a supermarket if anyone wants to volunteer.

I'm up for playing Rock Band for a silly amount of time. If I become confused enough I might even sing. You don't want that to happen. I also suspect that I will pass out in the middle of the night. - if that does happen please don't balance too many things on me buckaroo style, it's humiliating.

He's bringing a Game Gear? Quick some buy shares in Duracell! ;-) Seriously though, cool! Makes me wish I hadn't sold the Neo Geo MVS a year or so ago. that would have been cool for this event!

The venue is 5 mins drive from a 24hr Tesco and 5 mins walk for a Texaco / Somerfield garage so snacks are not an issue.

If you're up for rockband i'm totally going to the "endless setlist achievement" so bring your profile on memcard if you're in to the gamer points!

Okay, here's me dipping back in before the big night.

PC Gamage -- I'm up for anything on Steam (TF2 will be great, as there'll be enough of us that we can set up our own server and play whilst we wait for others to join... I *hate* searching for a server on thier shitty "upgraded" server browser). L4D should be fun too... there's the new DLC to try, after all. I plan to spend a LOT of time on Warcraft, however... Rupert has promised to marry me in Stormwind. Oooh! I can even make us tuxes! I'll even try to find Transformers Quake II especially for Chris...

Console-wise... I'll bring my big wallet o'games. If AL can bring his PS3, we're sorted. Oh, Al... you way want to access my account and start downloading FFVII for Dan. Yes, I DID buy it again. Bite me. I'll also be bringing Arkham Asylum and LittleBigPlanet.

Finally, in addition to my mug and moneys I'll also be bringing my DV camera for vidpops. Should be great for Rock Band/Singstar hilarity. Al, again, if you're bringing your PS3 can you download my Singstar 3 tracks? Should be on my download list too.

Oh, and who's picking me up? Someone offered, and I forget who. I need help getting my rig over (and Billy)...!

If you're up for rockband i'm totally going to the "endless setlist achievement" so bring your profile on memcard if you're in to the gamer points!

Definitely. I'm a gamerscore whore, but have no memcard - I thought that these moden days of internets meant that I didn't need it for transporting my account, but I'm happy to bash guitar/drums (preferably drums) even without the validation of gamer points :)

Time to go and find a bag to put batteries for my GameGear in. A big bag.

    Crikey that was long!

And despite what I said last night it wasn't all bad and I would actually consider doing it again.
